Jagruti Shirsat
Hello, my name is Jagruti Shirsat
I am known as Jag or “Jagi” is my name given by the children

Originally from India, I have made my home in New Zealand for the past 19 years

Working with children is my passion. I enjoy watching children as they explore and try to understand things from their perspective and especially to capture their “wow” moments as they learn something new.

Being in Early childhood from 2002, I have grown in so many different ways both as a teacher and as a person too. I strongly believe that children are capable learners and lead their own learning journey. My role is to follow their lead and support them in this journey. I feel that children learn through play and that’s when the best, significant and lifelong learning happens. I am passionate about children developing a love for learning which lasts them for their lifetime and that is what I work towards in my day to day practice.

A nature lover in my spare time, I enjoy going for walks and the beach is my absolute favourite. I also love reading, watching movies, spending time with family and friends and music helps me to relax.

Thank you
